Slow Windows Quicken is unusable

The discussion on "slow Quicken" was closed by Quicken Anja. But the problem persists and is affecting a lot of people.

Everything in Quicken desktop Deluxe has been getting slower for some time now and the latest update has made it so slow it is literally unusable. Accepting each downloaded transaction takes as long as 30 seconds. I, and others, have tried all the usual solutions including supervalidate, etc. Only quicken is slow. Everything else installed on my computer is very fast. The problem is in Quicken and it is not new. The latest update really did it in so if the developers see what that changed it would give them a clue of what is causing the problem.

Currently my Quicken is unusable.

Is it possible to at least remove the latest quicken update? How? Please!

Calliung Quicken support is a waste of time.

I answered my own question.

I had downloaded a quicken manual patch update in April which I still had. So I now updated quicken with it and Quicken now runs back to how it used to.

Still the usual slow but the unacceptable molasses caused by the latest update is gone.

In case this helps anyone else.

The patch was QW27.1.67.10MPatch.EXE

I am having the same issue after last update but I don't have a manual patch to go back to. What do I do? Quicken is unusable. Is there a fix in the works?

I suggest trying the manual patch available in our support article.

To do so:

Click the link to open the manual patch page.
Select Download the US Manual Patch Update or Download the Canada Manual Patch Update.
Wait for the file to finish downloading, then open it.
Follow the on-screen instructions to install the Quicken update.
