"AI Overview
ExxonMobil (NYSE:XOM) underwent a 1:1 CUSIP change as part of a corporate restructuring to redomicile from New Jersey to Texas. Effective July 1, 2026, the company changed its name to ExxonMobil Holdings Corporation, with shares automatically transferring to the new entity and keeping the existing XOM ticker symbol. Because a new legal entity was formed, the stock was assigned a new CUSIP identifier. This is a standard procedure for corporate reorganizations that involve reincorporating in a new state. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
For most shareholders, the transfer happens automatically through their brokerage or transfer agent (Computershare), and you will not need to take any manual action to complete the exchange. [1]"
OK, why do you care? Because it messed up my OSU for my Merrill Lynch accounts where I own shares of XOM. I have fixed everything so I am not looking for help. Because I probably didn't handle it in the most efficient way and I don't know what the OSU down loaded transactions for other brokerages will do, I am not going to speculate on what you will have to do if you own XOM shares held in an account in Quicken. (For me it involved deleting transactions and editing the XOM entry in the security list.) Maybe some moderator can provide some guidance. The transactions downloaded from ML did require manual adjustment.
Thanks
