Windows version - difficulty reconnecting updates to Capital One and merging results between 2 accts

After one update, the balances in the accounts became inaccurate. After the next update, having to reconnect the accounts online required multiple attempts with the program freezing. Finally, after a few hours it came back with the second account also showing the transactions from the first account. So…do I delete these accounts and all the reconciling I've done over the last 10 years, or just go back to tracking things in Excel?

Thank you for reaching out.

You don't necessarily need to delete your old accounts. If you'd like to keep them for historical reference, you can simply hide them and continue using the newly created accounts. Another option is to restore a backup from before the new accounts were created, then reactivate your existing accounts and reconcile them again.

If you'd like to hide or separate the old accounts, follow these steps:

• Select Tools menu > Manage Hidden Accounts.

• Select one or more of the hide options:
  Hide in Account bar and Account ListHide in Transaction Entry ListsKeep this Account Separate

If you'd prefer to restore a backup instead:

1. Go to File > View/Restore Backups....

1. Browse the Local and Online Backups tabs to find the backup file you want to restore. The Quicken backup file has the extension .QDF-Backup.
2. Select the file to restore and click Restore Backup.
3. Next, you will have the option to overwrite the open file or create a copy of the backup you're restoring.
