Error in software transfer payments

Using Quicken Classic current with all updates.

Quicken user over 20 years

When posting payment in general checking account the amount from the software transfer to the credit card account was treated as charge instead of payment.

My work around was posting payment to clearing account from checking then manually post payment to credit card from the clearing account.

First time seen this issue.

Which account did you enter the transfer in? If you entered it in the credit card account, transactions there default to charges so you have to explicitly type a "+" sign in front of the amount to get it to be a payment to the card. If you entered it in the checking account I would expect that to count as a payment to the card by default.
