I've been using PayPal for 20+ years. When Quicken and Quick Books started interacting with PayPal and allowed transaction downloading I jumped for joy. Until recently, I never used the derivatives Line of Credit, MasterCard, Pay in equal payments, etc….
So I now have a PayPal debit card (that acts like a cash account) and I have PayPal Line of Credit (operated by SYNCHRONY and only visible on PayPal not SYNCHRONY) and I have a PayPal MasterCard (while the statements say PayPal at the top, it too is operated by SYNCHRONY)
On the home page each Derivative is listed separately and you go into Line of Credit or into MasterCard. You can go to ACTIVITY and see everything from all derivatives in one place. In the past I went to statements and downloaded all activity and since I was only using the debit card that worked. Now I have several derivatives. Some of which charge interest some of which don't.
ONESTEP UPDATE is downloading all transactions into my Quicken PayPal account and every transaction is a split. It's very hard to reconcile statements for the WORLD MasterCard when the transactions are lumped in with everything else.
I'm interested in hearing from people who use PayPal and the derivatives and how they have these setup in Quicken and how they're dealing with these bulk transactions.
