Starting a week again (7/14/26) Quicken no longer updates my VOYA Accounts. I am getting the following error message. Of course something has changed on the VOYA and/or QUICKEN side. Any suggestions ?
Hi @dmurad53, Thank you for providing that information along with the screenshot.
If you haven't done so already, I recommend following the steps outlined in our support article for OFX Error: 16503. This error can occur for several reasons, including:
We typically recommend waiting 24 hours and trying to update the account again on the next business day. However, since you mentioned that the issue started on 07/14/2026, I also recommend checking your Bill Pay settings.
If you have not signed up for the bill payment service offered by your financial institution but have it enabled in Quicken, you may receive this error. To verify your settings:
If the issue persists after following the steps above, I recommend contacting your financial institution for further assistance. Quicken does not have access to the financial institution's servers to resolve this type of issue. You may need to ask to speak with an online services specialist who handles transaction download issues. If the financial institution is unable to resolve the issue, they may need to escalate it internally.
I hope this helps!
The error is with retirement accounts. No bill pay involved. I will move to contacting VOYA
Thanks for your reply, @dmurad53.
Sounds good! If you still need assistance or have any updates after speaking with VOYA, please feel free to post an update to this thread. We'll be happy to continue assisting you if needed.
Thank you!
No indication from VOYA that the issue is on their end. Also noticed other reports posted that the issue is widespread.
Hi @dmurad53, Thank you for following up and letting us know the outcome.
If VOYA did not escalate the issue, I recommend contacting Quicken Support for further assistance. They can guide you through additional troubleshooting steps in real time and escalate the case if necessary.
Phone support is available Monday through Friday, from 5:00 AM PT to 5:00 PM PT.
When you contact them, be sure to let the representative know that you have already reached out previously and that the issue is still unresolved. This will help them review the case more efficiently.
Voya was down for "Maintenance" over the weekend. Once it was back up, it isn't working with Quicken anymore. Re-authentication fails with the same error, even though I can login to their website.
Something changed on Voya that may require a similar change in Quicken. Quicken detail for server message: HTTP-500 Error from Voya Institutional Plan Services
This means the error is on the Voya side. 500 is just a generic "Something went wrong". Good luck convincing them of that. However, since I can login without error, it means something can be changed in Quicken to accommodate the change, it also means Voya won't believe the problem is theirs if I can login without issue.
Thanks for the update. Frustrating
I'm having the same issue with my Voya retirement account. I chatted with online support, who sent me a task number and e-mail address, along with instructions to take a screen shot of the Error code in Quicken (16503) and e-mail it to cccsystemcorrection@voya.com. I just sent that e-mail.
I have been struggling with the same problem all morning. When I called Voya the representative indicated that she didn't know anything about Quicken and that it wasn't a Voya problem. I'm done for the day but I would like to sign up for email updates on this issue. I'm just now sure how to do that. Any help on that topic?

I'm not Quicken Mac, but reporting Voya issues as well since 7/16 or 7/17. They performed an update over the weekend for our accounts as well. I get a OL-293-A error.
Having same issue. My 401K through Voya institutional investors stopped updating. This evening I disconnected the account and tried reconnecting it, but not I'm getting OFX ERROR 16503. I reported the problem to Quicken.
Same issue since after my last good download which was 16 July 2027.
Reported Problem thru software.
kinda annoying now.
I reported the issue from my Quicken R68.31 with all the logs checked to send.

I have the same issue startibg 1-2 weeks ago. Voya Institutional Plan Services - error recovery and when i try to connect to Voya receive the message "an error has occurred". Voya was of no help in helping resolve.

Maybe I don't want my Voya balance downloaded considering how the market is doing right now. :-)
makes me wonder about the competence of voya's IT department when it takes more than a week to fix a problem they caused.
