This is using Quicken Classic for Mac V9.1.1; I do not know when the issue started. I did not consider reporting this issue earlier, as it does not cause negative impacts, except for the misleading information. It does not change how much I love Quicken.
After requesting the update of my accounts with new transactions, the number of "New transactions downloaded" displayed in the "Update Summary" of the "Connection Status" window is incorrect. To reproduce, I first just make sure that I have processed all the register transactions and marked them as "Reviewed". After the update, setting the filter view for "Not Reviewed" correctly lists the new transactions.
A similar post was closed without a clear resolution: "Connection status window not updating number of all transaction downloaded". It was suggested that setting our accounts to NO multi-factor authentication (MFA) could prevent the issue. This is clearly not an acceptable solution. I prefer to get an incorrect number of transactions reported over a security risk.
My screenshot shows that many accounts were updated, with the blue dots near my accounts at the bottom left signaling accounts with newly downloaded transactions.
