Synchrony Bank Transactions Post Bacwards

Transactions downloaded from Synchrony bank are posted incorrectly. Charges are being posted as payments and Payments are posted as Charges. This is only happening with Synchrony Bank and does not happen with any of my other accounts. This is been going on for months

In this case, your register balance is likely showing as a positive (black) balance, which typically indicates the system interprets the account as a credit balance, meaning the credit card company may owe you money.

Credit card accounts are designed so that charges increase the amount owed (negative balance), while payments decrease it. If there has been an overpayment or a credit on the account, the balance calculation may temporarily appear inverted.

To better assist you, I'd appreciate it if you could provide the following information:

When did the account last display the correct balance?
Do you see any overpayments or adjustments around the time the issue started?
Are payment transactions showing in the Payment column and charges in the Charge column?

If the Payment and Charge columns are not visible, you can enable them as follows:

Open the credit card account register.
Click the gear icon at the top of the register.
Select Register Columns.

Check Charge and Payment.
Click Done.
