Reset Reconcile Account data

Is there a way to reset the "begin amount" amount when reconciling accounts? I am a Windows user and my checking account "Begin" amount is inaccurate so every time I go to reconcile I have to delete the "adjustment transaction" because it thinks it knows what it is but the system is wrong. It would be nice to over-ride that number. I also have a constant "Red Flag" on that account that never goes away.

If the register's Opening Balance transaction is, for some odd reason, incorrect, you can easily edit it and change the transaction amount.
Be sure to also note the correct amount in the OB transaction's Memo field … in case it gets changed again …

Before next Reconcile also delete any Adjustment transactions which have been added to the register.

On the reconcile pop up for a checking-type spending account reconciling to a paper statement, the beginning balance (now labeled’Prior balance’) is the sum of all ‘R’ transactions in the account. As that amount is filled in before the user fills in the statement date, the amount includes all such transactions, regardless of date.

There is no way to override that calculation though you can enter your own value. Overriding the computed value will lead to an automatic balance adjustment entry to account for the difference.

If you are routinely deleting that adjustment, you are just recreating the underlying problem.
