Missing Category inside transaction

I've got a category I've been using forever that now no longer show up in the category list, or if I go to enter a new transaction from the category picker inside the transaction. I can still see it in old transactions, and even in a recent transaction that was imported.

If I go to create a new transaction report, then select "by category," I can still see it in the category list that pops up and the report works fine. I just can't use the category to enter a new transaction.

Weird!

I don't really want to restore from a backup and need to re=enter a bunch of transactions.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Most likely, the category is hidden. Open the Categories window (menu Window > Categories). At the bottom of the window, click the three dots in a circle icon and make sure "Show Hidden" is checked:

Then find the category in the list and remove the checkmark in the Hidden column.
