Can you create reports off the budgeting module?

Question

I'd like to create a report or view that lets me see actuals spent to-date + forecasted/expected expenditures for the rest of the year from my budget. I'm using Quicken Classic in Canada on a Mac. I've looked around and don't see anything obvious which makes me think it's not available but thought I'd check to see if someone has a solution. Thanks!

Thank you for reaching out with your question.

At this time, Quicken Classic for Mac does not offer a dedicated Budget vs. Actual report in the standard Reports menu that combines year-to-date actual spending with forecasted budget amounts for the remainder of the year.

However, you can view this information in the 12-month Budget view:

* Past months: Shows your actual spending.
* Current month: Shows a combination of actual spending to date and the remaining budget for the month.
* Future months: Displays your budgeted (forecasted) amounts.

To view this, simply open the Budget tab and customize it to display the categories and accounts you'd like to include.

If you'd like to make changes to your budget, click Edit Budget in the upper-left corner of the Budget tab. From there, you can:

* Select the categories and accounts you want to include.
* Set or adjust your budgeted amounts.

Quicken will automatically compare your budgeted amounts with the actual values based on your categorized transactions.

Additionally, the first column of the Budget view provides a summary of your Budget vs. Actual totals, either year-to-date or for the full year, depending on your selected budget view.

While there isn't a separate report that presents this information today, we do have an active Idea post requesting this functionality: "Actual vs. Budgeted Reports: customize date range and get comparisons (Q Mac)". This request has already been marked as Planned, so the development team intends to add this capability in a future update, although we don't have an estimated timeline to share at this time.
