merging 2 discover accounts

My discover card is now with Capital one. When I did the first download on capital one my original cardname did not show up on the link list so I did a new account. Now I want to merge the old (downloaded from discover) and new (downloaded from capital one) accounts so I can have all the information under one account. The name of the new account is different from the old. But when I change the name of the old account to match the new it tells me that the name already exists. Everything I read says it should tell me to merge but does not. What can I do? Thank you

How did you merge the two accounts? I'm currently trying to this same thing and can't find merge to do this. Thanks-

Never mind - got it now. I tried to look for the account to add to when first adding, and it wasn't showing. After re-reading your question, I deleted the account and started over. When I just left link to existing account, it will do it automatically.

I did not have to merge after all since I deleted the new account downloaded from capital one and went back and redid the download process from capital one for the discover card. When I got to the point where Quicken asked me to link to an account I did not go to the accounts they had listed under link to an account since the discover account was not listed (like I did the first time) but just clicked on 'continue' (or 'next' I do not remember) at the bottom right hand corner and after a short while the new items were added to my existing discover account from capital one.

Note that everything I read and followed re merging did not work. I do not know why but at any rate what worked was easier since all the stuff from capital one on the new account had different dates for the items that overlapped from discover.com although only went back a few weeks.
