Mac .... editing scheduled transactions

The help information only says you cannot edit amounts on scheduled transactions. Why, or is there a way? I use the checking account manually; I do not download from the bank. For power and water bills, the amounts change every month, but the dates don't. How to do this?

Yes, you can change the amount for the next occurrence of a scheduled transaction in Quicken for Mac.

For bills like power and water, where the due date remains the same but the amount varies each month, you can keep the reminder scheduled and update the amount for the next scheduled transaction when you receive the bill.

To do this:

1. Open the upcoming scheduled transaction in the register (the future/gray entry).
2. Edit the amount.
3. Save the changes.

This will update only that upcoming payment without changing the entire reminder series.

Since you are entering transactions manually in your checking account and are not downloading transactions, this approach should work well for variable-amount bills.
