How do I get my Bank of America account to update to the correct name.

I am using Quicken Classic Premier R68.31 on Windows via Parallels. After a recent update, I received a message indicating that my Bank of America "connection(s) needed to be updated". While updates for two of my three accounts were successful, my Savings account was not recognized. Instead, Quicken created a new account called “Regular Savings,” and transactions are now downloading only into that account. However, I have a long transaction history under my original “Savings” account, and I need these two accounts to be merged. Currently, the “Regular Savings” account only contains data going back to May 2026.

Thank you for providing those details.

Based on your description, it sounds like the action was "Add to Quicken" instead of "Link to existing account". Before performing any troubleshooting, I recommend creating a backup of your Quicken data file.

Once the backup has been created, I recommend deleting the duplicate account.

To delete the duplicate account:

• Go to Tools > Account List.
• Locate the duplicate account and click Edit.
• In the Account Details window, click Delete Account.
• Type YES to confirm, then click OK.

After deleting the duplicate account, verify if your original account is still connected.

To check the connection status:

• Go to Tools > Account List.
• Locate the original account and click Edit.
• Select the Online Services tab.
• If the Deactivate button is available, click Deactivate, then click OK to confirm.

Once the account has been deactivated, you can reconnect it and link it to the existing register.

To reconnect and link the account:

• Go to Tools > Add Account.
• Select your financial institution.
• If prompted, choose the appropriate connection method.
• Enter your credentials and click Connect.
• When Quicken displays the list of found accounts, select Link next to the account you want to connect and choose your existing account from the list.

• Click Next, then Done to complete the setup.
