I was excited to see Transamerica Retirement listed as a financial institution available for downloads, since they had never (officially) supported downloads to Quicken for Mac. However, I was immediately disappointed to see that what it downloads is completely messed up data.
What should be a "stock purchase" download comes down as a "payment/deposit" transaction. Since it's a stock purchase, it should be a negative value (cash outflow) but it comes down as a positive value. It has the stock name associated with it, but it doesn't have any of the actual data (ticker, number of shares, amount per share).
Similarly, what should be a "stock sale" comes down as a "miscellaneous expense" transaction, and just as above, it should be a positive value (cash inflow) but it comes down as a negative value, and the same as above (no ticker, number of shares, amount per share).
I'm assuming that fixing this will be completely up to the financial institution? If so… well… knowing what I know about the uselessness of Transamerica, I will not even bother and just disconnect the account.
