This [OL-315-A] error has happened before and eventually resolved. The error refers to transactions dated too far in the future, but a review of my accounts does not find any transaction dated too far in the future. Inexplicable.
Hello @Pat Marshall,
Thank you for letting us know you are having this issue!
As you stated, the OL-315 Error usually occurs when the transactions you are downloading are dated too far into the future. This may be due to your system date and time settings since Quicken assumes that it should use your computer's clock when performing the One Step Update.
For Windows 10:
Deactivate and Reactivate Account:
Note: Linking the account properly can help avoid creating duplicate accounts or duplicate transactions.
8. Try to download transactions.
Let us know how it goes!
I have 11 UBS accounts. Quicken doesn't tell me which it has a problem with.
I did not deactivate, but just tried to update again. Now the error presented is different. OL-292-B. I have seen this intermittently in the past and it continues to recur.
Now it is right back to OL-315-A.
I have several UBS Financial Services Direct Connect accounts. All but one update normally and show a current update timestamp. One checking account, which is linked to a UBS investment account, consistently shows ‘Online Balance $0.00 as of .’ with no date. The update then fails with OL-315-A, ‘Date Too Far in Future.’ At other attempts the same UBS update has returned OL-292-B
@Pat Marshall,
Thanks for following up!
Interesting that it is switching between two different errors. I noticed that the error says 14 accounts, and you said you have 11. Are there possibly some old/hidden accounts that could be causing this issue? I think this would be a good place to start. It's always a good idea to Save a Backup before troubleshooting.
You mentioned that the linked account is the one getting the error. This is confusing to me because a linked account is generally not a connected account. The investment account is connected, and the cash shows in a linked "offline" account, essentially.
If you do not have any hidden accounts causing this issue, I recommend following at least part of the steps in my previous response and deactivate/reactivate all UBS accounts. Also, keep in mind that we do have an Open Alert for this financial institution as well.
Let us know what you find!
Number of accounts is 11, I was wrong about 14. What is one account in Quicken is no always just one account at UBS like checking linked to an investment account. I had some trouble months ago with activate and then reactivate so I decided to postpone doing it for a day or so to see if the issues resolve without me making matters perhaps worse. Thank you.
My Windows date/time is correct. I have 11 UBS accounts connected through Direct Connect. One of them is a linked checking account associated with a UBS brokerage account. During One Step Update, that account uniquely shows “Online Balance $0.00 as of .” with no date. The other UBS accounts show update timestamps. Before I deactivate anything, should I deactivate all 11 UBS accounts, or is there a particular account you want me to deactivate/reactivate?
The UBS update is still failing with OL-292-B. I compared the individual account results. Most UBS accounts show “Holdings information updated as of 8/10/2026 9:55:14 PM.” However, my linked Checking UBS account shows “Online Balance $0.00 as of .” with no date. This is the only UBS account with this message. The checking account is linked to a UBS brokerage account (Show cash in a checking account = Yes). My Windows date/time is correct. Could this missing date be causing the OL-292-B/OL-315-A errors? Before I deactivate/reactivate the 14 UBS accounts, please advise.
Inexplicably, it just worked without me changing anything.
Thank you for following up to let us know that this issue has resolved on its own.
If that changes or you need more help, let us know!
Thanks again!
Do you know what happened and why? I'd like to avoid this in the future. I do thank you and your employer for your responses.
How are you getting Quicken to download any transactions from UBS Financial Services using Direct Connect? There is currently an open ticket (#12481758) with Quicken engineers with no ETA for resolving. I haven't been able to download any transactions from UBS since early June!
My experience is that the issue is intermittent for me, and I do not know why it comes and goes. I looked at my Account Details for a UBS account and the Financial Institution is UBS Financial Services, Inc. and the Connection Method is Direct Connect. I have found it better to not deactivate and reactivate, but rather wait it out and see what happens. This last time this happened for me I called UBS. They said they were having trouble with a company wide upgrade and suggested that might cause an issue but should resolve. UBS and Quicken have just not worked well for years for me. The home page in Account Details is onlineservices.ubs.com
Thanks for posing this question.
Unfortunately, with Direct Connect errors, we have significantly less information available to us. These are errors on the bank's server, and we do not have visibility into those servers to determine what exactly caused an issue or why.
Sorry I couldn't provide more information. At any rate, I am happy the issue is resolved.
