When I try to download data, Quicken freezes. I have to restart Windows to access Quicken again. Then it happens again.
Hi @Greek,
Thank you for sharing the details of what you’re experiencing. To help narrow down the cause, could you please provide the following information?
If you haven’t tried updating the accounts individually, please follow the steps below. Sometimes a specific connected account can cause the One Step Update process to slow down or freeze.
Before proceeding, please make sure to create a backup of your Quicken file.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you, Laura. I have tried these suggestions to no avail. When I deactivate the individual account, my computer freezes up. It also freezes up when I select an account and "update now". Last week i contacted customer service and after a legth session, this wasn't resolved.
Help (again).
Thank you for following up. I reviewed the steps you completed with Support and saw that the first copy you created, containing the last 10 years of transactions, did not freeze. You then created a second copy containing your full transaction history, where you only needed to reactivate your accounts.
Could you please clarify whether you’re now experiencing issues with the new copy file, or if you’ve returned to the original file?
Hi Laura,
The copy with 10 years of transactions was missing a substantial amount of data, requiring me to go back 10 years and manually re-enter it. I can't use that file. If I could retain all that information, then that would work for me. I have gone back to the original to try the suggestions you made.
Understood, @Greek .
I believe you also created a second copy of your Quicken file with Support that retained all of your historical information. Did that copy work better for you?
Please let me know how things go with what you’re trying now. I’ll be happy to assist further if needed.
Good news. I used one of the several copies made and followed your instructions. It worked. Thank you.
Great! I’m glad to hear everything is working now.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any additional questions or need further assistance.
