Automatic bill pay for fixed amounts and variable amounts -- zero manual intervention

Quicken had a feature, way back in the day, where it would automatically pay bills if the amount was variable or fixed. This features has long been removed.

I noticed that Classic Bill Pay was reintroduced in 2025, but I've read every piece of marketing copy I could find on this and it does not clarify if fixed/variable bills can automatically be paid.

When this feature existed in Quicken I never missed nor was I ever late on a bill payment. It was the primary reason I used Quicken. Once it was removed I remained a customer for a few years but eventually cancelled due to vague responses and no commitment to implementing this feature again.

My question is this; can any Quicken product automatically pay fixed/variable bills with zero manual intervention?

Thanks for explaining what you’re looking for. I understand the distinction you’re making between being reminded that a bill is due and having Quicken automatically initiate the payment with no manual intervention.

At this time, Quicken Classic Bill Manager does not support fully automatic payment of bills based on a scheduled bill/reminder, whether the amount is fixed or variable, with zero manual intervention. You still need to review, approve, and initiate the payment.

Bill Manager can be used to schedule and make payments, but it does not automatically determine the amount and send the payment without requiring you to intervene.

However, if you create a repeating online payment in Quicken Classic and your financial institution supports that functionality through Direct Connect, Quicken can send the payment instructions to the financial institution without you manually initiating each individual payment.

However, there are two different things:

• Bill/Income Reminder: Does not automatically send the bill payment. It primarily schedules/records the transaction in Quicken.
• Repeating Online Payment: Can schedule the actual payment through your financial institution's online bill-pay service, so you don't have to manually send each payment.

The online payment service also lets you schedule payments another way. You can send your online payment instructions ahead of time for both single and multiple payments. With this approach, you do not need a reminder. Set the delivery date and send the instruction.
