Changing Categories in Split Transactions

It is beyond frustrating to STILL not be able to change categories in a split transaction. I just had to upwards of 1000 entries, by hand, for tax purposes. I simply entered them incorrectly in the first place - LAST YEAR - and now I am trying to update for taxes and there is simply no way to do it. More details please. Are you saying you have transaction with 1000 split lines that you cannot edit? Or 1000s of transactions with a few split lines each that you cannot edit? Something else?
