Like everyone else, was having issues setting up downloads for cards with Synchrony Bank - something I was doing as part of starting to manage my MIL's finances. What frustrated me is that I had no issues with my own accounts.

Read several posts about it being a URL issue. I went through each option that presented when you typed in SYN in the search and found that the URL shown, Synchrony Financial Mastercard, took you to the same login page as my cards - so I tried that but still got an error when using my MIL's credentials; yet when I used my credentials, it was successful.

So i changed my MIL's password to the same password as my own and it WORKED!!!!

So I am thinking that my MIL's password was just too complicated, even though it was going to the right URL.

@Leslie Ayers connecting Synchrony credit cards to Quicken has always been a challenge. I have two Synchrony store credit cards that I have had issues with off and on for years. One I was able to connect, the other never connected. Earlier this year, I got notices from Synchrony to change my sign on credentials and use their new method of signing on. I still used the old FI connections to connect with Quicken for the one card I could connect with. Recently, I just happen to try "Synchrony Financial Mastercard" and low and behold both credit cards where available to connect with Quicken. Now both Synchrony store credit cards work and I haven't had any issues.

In your case, it could be a combination of changing the sign on credentials and using the new FI. As I mentioned, connecting with Synchrony has always been a challenge, but maybe they are making an effort to streamline their processes and make it easier for their customers, especially their customers that use Quicken.
