How to install Quicken software to a new PC? Only have download on old PC.

Question

Hi.  I'm transitioning from one PC to a new one.  I don't know how to install my Quicken program (and saved files) without a CD that I would buy every year. Last year Quicken only allowed a downloaded from internet(?) version.

Is there an application file in my current PC file folder to copy and install in new PC?  I know there is an ICON on Desktop for Quicken.  (It happens to click to the wrong last used saved file. Another story.)  For now, I need the app on new PC.

@massachusetts234 here are some instructions I put together for you.

On your OLD computer

* Open Quicken.
* Click File (top left).
* Click Show this file on my computer.
* A window will pop up — look for the file that ends in .QDF.
* Plug in your USB drive.
* Right‑click the .QDF file → Copy.
* Open the USB drive → right‑click → Paste.

You’re done with the old computer.

On your NEW computer

* Open Quicken (the new installation).
* Plug in your USB drive.
* Open the USB drive.
* Right‑click your .QDF file → Copy.
* Open your Documents folder.
* Open the Quicken folder inside Documents.* If you don’t see one, make it:* Right‑click → New Folder → name it Quicken

* Right‑click inside the Documents → Quicken folder → Paste.

After this you can follow the instructions in the Quicken Support article I provided

* Make sure to indicate that you want to "Open a data file located on this computer"
* Browse for the Quicken Data File (QDF) you saved in the Documents/Quicken folder.
* Open your Quicken Data File on your new computer.

That’s it

Everything should look exactly the same as it did on the old computer.

If you have any questions, just ask.  But if you are not comfortable with going through the installation or data file move process, you can always contact Quicken Support and they can work remotely with you and go through it with you step by step.

Thank you.  In addition, I need a process that assures my already saved Quicken data and files will work with a fresh download from the website.  Otherwise, I thought to use the Quicken app inside   Windows (C:) Program Files x86 that I can transfer to new PC.  ?   I really don't want to risk more issues with Quicken. It's been a headache on my existing PC.

Will new download from site pair with my existing data?   (I haven't installed or transferred anything yet to new PC)
