Extreme - very extreme -slowness

I have Quicken for Windows, operating on Parallels on Mac. My software and MacOS are up to date, and my computer is less than two years old. I have been operating Quicken like this for years. Over the past several months, One Step Update and confirming each entry, checking and unchecking transactions and entering balance in the reconcile window, selecting an account in the accounts list, switching between modules, and any action requiring a save have become painfully slow. After downloading account data - again, painfully slow - it can take ten minutes to enter and categorize five transactions. Update stock prices manually in the portfolio view - as I must with most cryptocurrencies? Forget about it! That's ten more minutes, and I no longer get it done every day. It takes a half hour to forty minutes to do what used to get done in a few minutes.

The file is about 350 MB. Any insights into how to fix this? Is Quicken aware of this? If so, are they doing anything?

This is currently not a known or widespread issue. Slowness in Quicken can happen for a number of reasons, and we do have a Support Article that can help us diagnose it. The first step is reviewing system requirements, but it sounds like you have already done that. You can start with step two:

Review the location of your Quicken data file.

If your computer meets the system requirements, verify that the Quicken data file is stored on your local disk. Avoid storing your file in folders synced to cloud services like OneDrive, Dropbox, or Google Drive. These services can interfere with Quicken's ability to manage your data.
