Investment transaction report does not show amount of CONTRIBX transactions

I posted this last year and did not get any helpful responses. I found several reports of this same problem as early as 2019, the first that I could find. Some said this would be reported to Quicken as a bug but there is no fix as of Sept 2026. This is important to me as a historical report of IRA transactions over many years. My post from 2025…………

In the Investment Transactions report, transactions that are transfers of cash into IRA accounts using CONTRIBX do not show the $amount of each transaction. I have run Validate and it found no errors and did not correct the problem.

@John McCoy what you are experiencing has been an issue for a very long time. I brought it up years ago. Then, I thought it was fixed but then I discovered that it wasn't.

There are two different ways to get around this issue.

1. Highlight the ContX transaction in the investment account register. Hit Edit to open the transaction. Change the transaction to a Withdraw. Put the transfer account in the Category field enclosed in brackets [ ]. Hit Enter to save the transaction.
2. Delete the transfer transaction and replace it with two separate transations in the to and from accounts.

Also note that anytime you use a transfer Action (cash transfer in or cash transfer out) you will have this issue.

I also had a difficult time trying to get this issue acknowledged, so I know what you are going though. But when I found these workarounds it became a non-issue for me, but it doesn't help other users like you that get the runaround with no resolution.

Hopefully now these workarounds will work for you and you will no longer have the issue.
