How to add web connect for Chase card

Question

I am a long time Quicken Deluxe user, current ver R69.21 with Widows 11 Home ver 25H2.

May existing Chase Visa card was hacked and new card provided. I have successfully add new card to Q account list but have failed multiple times to establish web connect with Chase for transaction download. Hacked card worked fine. Use all the steps to add connect for new card and all appears to work fine, including Chase side which shows account linked. But Q account list setting still shows No. Repeated 4 times with same result - failure. What am I doing wrong?

@Art149 the best thing to do is to deactivate the existing credit card account on Quicken and reactivate it with the new account number -

* Make a backup of your data file.
* Open the old credit‑card account → Edit → Online Services → Deactivate.
* Click OK and close Account Details.
* Tools → Add Account → Go through the steps to add the credit card account
* Sign on with your username and password
* When Quicken finds the account, choose Link to existing and select the existing credit card account in Quicken.
* When the process completes, you may get some downloaded transactions.  
* Review the transactions and delete duplicates.

If you really want a new credit card account on Quicken, you would need to deactivate the old one first before adding the new one.

If you download from your online account at Chase (Web Connect), then you need to follow these steps -

* Open the old credit‑card account → Edit → Online Services → Deactivate
* Click OK and close Account Details.
* Sign on to your online account with Chase and download the QFX file.  
* When the pop-up box appears asking whether you want to create a new account, or link to existing* Choose "Link" if you want to keep the same existing account on Quicken
* Choose "New" if you want to create a new credit card account on Quicken.

* Review the transactions and delete duplicates.

Once you create this link once and established a connection, you will be able to download transactions ongoing.

Hi @Art149,

Since the original Chase card was compromised and replaced, the existing online connection may still be associated with the old card information. I recommend deactivating the old online services connection first, then reactivating the account using your Chase credentials.

In Quicken for Windows:

* Go to Tools > Account List.
* Locate the existing Chase credit card account and click Edit.
* Select the Online Services tab.
* Click Deactivate and confirm.

5. Once deactivated, click Set Up Now.

6. Select Chase and sign in with your Chase credentials.

7. When Quicken displays the accounts found at Chase, make sure the replacement card is selected as Link to Existing Account and link it to your existing Quicken account rather than adding it as a new account.

Quicken recommends this deactivate/reactivate process when a credit card has been cancelled or replaced, and it should allow the new card connection to be established while preserving your existing Quicken account and transaction history.

When Reactivating, be sure to select Link to the existing account.

Thanks to all for your input. First, I was leaving the old card activated because Chase was still processing charges on it until I received the new card and had time to make the payment card change at a dozen or so vendors set for automatic payment - like subscriptions, Quicken, and the like. I thought Chase and Quicken would surely allow cards with different account/card numbers to coexist.

Anyway, I had Quicken connect to the Chase old card and downloaded a charge made two days ago. Then deactivated it and went thru the activation steps for the new card. And it worked, sort of. On the new card Quicken downloaded all transaction from 9/15/2024 thru today, 9/15/26 which were prior charges on the OLD card. Now looking for a way to delete a few hundred transaction so I can keep track of actual spend. Thanks again to all!!
