Quicken mis-assigns social security check to categories set up in Bills & Deposits

For several months downloaded social security payments have been intermittently been mis-assigned to the split categories set up in Bills and Deposits. It seems to happen more for my wife's deposit than for mine, and never happens at all for my pension check.

Today i finally got a screen capture showing the mix up. As you can see, Gross Social Security and the Medicare premium are swapped. Federal tax deducted is not misassigned. The mixup happens the same way every time.

I have deleted and recreated the deposit definition several times, with no improvement.

My Quicken is up to date (R69.29), and Windows is fully up to date.

Any ideas?

@Rblizard have you tried a data file validate?

Validate

1. Make a backup of your Quicken data file.
2. Select File > Validate and Repair File.
3. Check Validate File.
4. Click OK.
5. Wait for the process to finish.
6. Review the DATA_LOG.TXT file that opens automatically for any errors or repairs made.

Super Validate

1. Make a backup of your Quicken data file.
2. Hold down Ctrl + Shift on your keyboard.
3. While holding those keys, select File > Validate and Repair File.
4. A Super Validate File option will appear.
5. Check Super Validate File.
6. Click OK.
7. Wait for the process to complete.
8. Review the DATA_LOG.TXT file for any issues found or corrected.

After Validation

• Close and reopen Quicken.
• Test the problem transaction or reminder again.
• If the issue involves a scheduled reminder, compare the reminder's split lines to the generated transaction.
• If the problem persists after a Super Validate, consider deleting and recreating the reminder from scratch, as the reminder definition itself may be corrupted.

Since you have already deleted and reset up the reminders several times, this is the only other thing I can think of to try, if you haven't already.
