How long should one step update take?

Quicken Classic Deluxe - Version 9.2.2

How long should one step update take? In the past, mine was under 30 seconds; now it routinely takes 2 minutes or more. This has been going on for several years.

Additionally, this step coincides with losing our home internet connection about 33% of the time. I'm not positive that Quicken use and losing home internet are connected as our home internet is spotty, but they frequently happen at the same time.

I have some follow-up questions for you:

• Do you receive any error messages when updating your accounts?
• Are you running a VPN, Antivirus, or Firewall that could interfere with Quicken's ability to connect to the internet?
  • If so, have you tried disabling it to see if that makes any difference?
• Have you noticed any other strange behaviors occurring in your file?
  • Like Quicken crashing with certain actions.

In short, yes, a spotty internet connection could absolutely be the cause of your account updates taking longer. Quicken uses internet connectivity to access online services (such as One Step Update). Sometimes certain conditions or system settings will prevent Quicken from successfully connecting to these online services.

The three main problems that can prevent Quicken from accessing the internet are:

• Your web browser cannot establish a secure connection
• Your computer has security and privacy programs, such as firewalls and pop-up blockers, that are not configured correctly
• Your internet connection is slow or unstable

You can try performing an internet connection speed test through Google.

Quicken needs download speeds of at least 25Mbps to run properly.
