We are currently investigating an issue affecting split transactions in Quicken for Windows following recent releases beginning around R68.31.
Customers may experience unexpected behavior when creating or editing split transactions, particularly when using the newer % Split functionality.
Reported behaviors include:
- Zero-dollar split transactions cannot be saved correctly. When positive and negative split amounts total $0.00, Quicken may prompt the customer to select Spend/Charge or Receive/Payment instead of accepting the $0.00 transaction.
- After selecting one of these options, the transaction may incorrectly be saved with a positive or negative amount rather than $0.00.
- The issue may be triggered when using the Tab key to navigate through the split transaction window, including the % Split column.
- Dollar amounts in split transactions may be automatically adjusted because of percentage calculations/rounding. For example, manually entered amounts of $8,000 and $5,900 may change to $8,000.01 and $5,899.99.
- Some customers may be unable to clear an existing split while entering a transaction. The transaction must first be saved before the split can be cleared.
The behavior has been reproduced and reported by multiple customers.
This issue has been escalated to our internal team for further investigation. We don’t have an ETA for a resolution yet, but we’ll share updates as soon as we have more information.
