I'm on the phone with Quicken tech support now. They said nobody else reported a problem with Quicken, but there are other posts [1, 2] about the problem. After sharing these other posts, the agent seems to be working hard with a technical team to on the problem.
My Robinhood account has two stocks, a small margin (negative) balance, which was transferred in, and a $1 deposit. I have a Quicken Classic Premier for Mac file with just this Robinhood account. Only "simple" accounting is available.
The biggest problem is that the Quicken account shows a cash balance equal to the value of the equity. Every time I sync, a cash balance adjustment is added to my Quicken account so that cash balance = value of equity. This results in Quicken reporting that I have approximately 2x the value of the account.
Also, the $1 deposit shows as a negative and the small negative balance shows as a positive.
