Bill and income reminders: mortgage payment reminder has disappeared

I am running Windows 11 and Quicken version R69.29.

My mortgage payment reminder has disappeared from bill and income reminders.

I believe it happened after the last update a few weeks ago.

Any way to get this back?

If not how do I reenter this reminder.

@ccpjr right click on latest mortgage payment transaction in your payment account register and select "Add reminder". In the payment reminder create window, edit the appropriate options to set up a new mortgage payment reminder starting with your next payment.

That worked but it's the total payment.

My previous reminders showed the principal, loan interest and escrow amounts. This does not show the loan interest and escrow amounts?

Is there a way to do that.

@ccpjr you are absolutely right. For some reason, when automatically creating the loan payment reminder by "Add reminder", it doesn't retain the split transactions.

Here is what you will need to do to recreate your mortgage payment reminder -

~~Right click~~ ~~the most recent payment from the account register.~~
~~Select "Memorized Payee…" and then click~~ ~~Add~~.
~~Go to~~ ~~Bills & Reminders.~~
~~Click the "+" in the upper right and then select "Manual Bill~~".
1. ~~Pay to - put in the~~ ~~exact name~~ ~~of the mortgage servicer on the mortgage payment transaction~~ ~~you just memorized~~.
2. ~~Click~~ ~~Next~~.
3. ~~The "Add Reminder" window should show the mortgage payment information and transaction splits intact.~~
4. ~~Click~~ ~~Done~~.
~~The mortgage payment reminder should now be there in Bills & Reminders.~~
~~Review the mortgage payment details and update any information if necessary.~~
~~Go to the~~ ~~Memorized Payee List~~ ~~and~~ ~~delete~~ ~~the memorized payee you created for the mortgage payment.~~

@ccpjr assuming you have the mortgage loan set up in Quicken, the mortgage payment Reminder is a special type of reminder that is tied to the mortgage loan.

To add the mortgage reminder, open the mortgage account and, if necessary, click the Payment Details button. In the Loan Details dialog, click Payment Options. In the Loan Payment Options dialog, select Loan Reminder and click OK. Choose the type of reminder you want to use. In the Loan Payment Reminder dialog, fill out the fields and follow the prompts to finish creating the reminder.

@mshiggins - I couldn't follow your instructions, and then I realized that the steps are different depending on what version of Quicken Windows the user has. I think you are using an older version of Quicken Windows. But I agree that your steps are the correct way to re-setup a missing mortgage payment reminder so that the P & I splits are calculated correctly.

@ccpjr I have taken mshiggins' suggestion and created steps for the current subscription version of Quicken Windows.

In your mortgage account, click on the Payment Details tab.
If the "Show payment graph" is unchecked, check it.
Click on "Edit payment details" button
In the Loan Details window, click on the Payment Options button.
In the Loan Payment Options window, select "Loan Reminder".
Check "Automatically enter the transaction into the register" and choose the desired number of days.
Click OK.
The Loan Payment Reminder details will appear with the payment details. Review and make changes if necessary.
Click "Done" to close the Loan Payment Reminder window.
After you click "Done", the process will take a while. Do not close the window manually.
When the process completes, the windows will close automatically and return you to your mortgage account.
Go to Bills & Income and verify that the Loan Payment Reminder has been set up.
Review the payment details and make changes or updates if necessary.

Important - Please review the Loan Payment Reminder details and verify that the payment splits are being calculated correctly.
