I have Nord VPN activated on my browser. When I run OSU, Bank of America refuses to connect. Don't remember CC. This doesn't always happen but frequently. Sent logs to support…
@Greg Brown VPNs can sometimes interfere with Quicken's ability to authenticate with financial institutions and complete downloads, particularly with EWC and EWC+ connections. If you are using one, try temporarily disabling it and then run One Step Update again to see if the issue persists.
I do disable it in order to connect. Seems kind of lame 🤔that connecting to a financial institution to update data, doesn't work with a VPN…
@Greg Brown I agree it seems a bit ironic that a security tool can interfere with financial downloads. In many cases, though, the restriction comes from the financial institution or the connectivity services involved rather than Quicken itself. Since the connection works when the VPN is disabled, you've at least isolated one contributing factor.
If your VPN supports split tunneling, you might also check whether Quicken can be excluded from the VPN while keeping the rest of your traffic protected.
It does support split tunneling but again it's seems counterintuitive to exclude financial software from the VPN.
With VPN enabled, you're accessing the Internet using an IP address different from the one you use without VPN. The bank may not recognize the new IP address and therefore refuse to talk with you. That unexpected new IP address could be from a hacker, you know …
See if you can set up your VPN to always use the same IP address for you and then see if you can reauthorize with the bank while VPN is on. If this works, you'll have to remember to keep VPN on always.
Interesting that I can log into bank website with VPN enabled but Can't download Quicken data… Same VPN server.
