Quicken classic Premier R69.53, build 27.1.69.53, on Windows 11 with all current updates
Target monthly statement just published. My Quicken has been completely unable to download from Target for over a year, but I'm able to use the website to download Quicken transaction files, which can be applied into Quicken after I edit them with Notepad to add the information that Target no longer supplies in those files.
The transactions applied. After doing so, Quicken offered the option to connect Quicken directly to Target. I clicked OK do it, and my Quicken window greyed out and would not respond to anything until I killed it after waiting 5 minutes.
I disconnected and tried the "Add new FI" method to create a new connection to Target National Bank, and that failed as always with CC-503 (using the same credentials I used on the website to download the file that I've applied).
Questions for Quicken moderators:
- Since when I allow Quicken to try to connect to Target it hangs, and I need to alt-ctrl-del kill the application, if I do try to report the problem through Quicken > Report A Problem, will it have anything useful Quicken developers can use to resolve the problem?
After more than a year of Quicken will not download from Target, I'm willing to say Quicken and Target are divorced and will never get together again. But if that's the case, Quicken should stop prompting for a connection, and certainly should not hang when the connection is attempted. If it's waiting for a connection from Target that never gets a response, it should intelligently time out and return control to the user.
- Has anyone in Quicken been able to figure out why login credentials that work on the website do not work when trying to connect to Target National Bank?
