I was getting items categorized for a while, but this has seemed to stop happening. Nothing has changed except for various updates. Did I miss some change that I now need to make? The last item placed as a memo was September 17th.
Hi @Bione,
Thanks for reaching out and sharing the details of what you’re experiencing. You mentioned that the issue started after an update. Do you recall whether it was a Quicken update or a browser update (Chrome/Edge)?
As outlined in our support article, there are a few things you can check to make sure the Retail Purchase Categorization extension is properly connected to your Quicken file:
Check the Retail Purchase Categorization extension
Manually retrieve orders
Check the Quicken ID and data file
Check whether the Amazon transactions are actually matchable
Run One Step Update
Test with a recent Amazon purchase
Check whether Retail Purchase Categorization is still enabled
Please let me know what you find after going through these steps. That information should help us narrow down where the issue is occurring.
The extension says it is connected to Amazon, and Quicken says it is connected to the extension. If you download in the extension, it just spins. It says the last download was 17 days ago.
You state "In Quicken, go to Edit > Preferences > Quicken ID & Cloud Accounts and verify the Cloud Dataset name". I do not see any of that information. What I see has been attached. I do not use Mobile or Web.
Here is a clue of something that happened around the last working date. My Fidelity Visa card ( I am currently connected to Elan Financial; I am not sure if I was connected to Elan or Fidelity previously) was hacked, and new cards were issued. I updated the same register in Quicken with the new card info. I disabled online services and set it up again with Elan. Normal transactions (not matching info) worked. I had also updated the card in Amazon. This is the account I use. This is the best clue I have found regarding the date it stopped working. There have been multiple Amazon purchases since that date, and most should have been categorized.

Microsoft Edge is up to date. Version 154.0.4258.62 (Official build) (64-bit)
Quicken: R69.53 for Windows.

Thank you for your response. Could you please test the extension’s behavior in Google Chrome?
Before you begin, please:
Please let me know how it goes and what you observe during the process. I look forward to your response.
You stated not to delete the extension but go through the enrollment process. I saw no way to do that since with it installed, I could not start that process.
I called tech support yesterday and spent almost an hour and a half trying things. The last was to create a QFX copy and load a clean version. But I lost all my budgeting info and more.
Finally, I went back to my original file, turned off the categorization, deleted the extension and put it all back. I told the extension to only bring new transactions in and two were downloaded. But at this point, the product has not been delivered and the charges have not hit my Quicken account but am assuming since they are not coming in, they will categorize. Will know more probably tomorrow
Thank you for sharing the results of your troubleshooting, @Bione . That information is very helpful.
I’m sorry you’ve been dealing with this issue for so long. When you have a chance tomorrow, please let me know how things are going and whether you’re still experiencing the issue.
Thanks again for your cooperation and patience.
I'm having the same issue: the retailer purchase categorization opens in Quicken and opens in the browser (Chrome) when I click on View Orders. However, the message next to the spinning wheel says last updated 10 days ago. I have tried all of the recommended troubleshooting steps with no success.
