Bills & Income (Q Mac)

Version 9.2.2 (Build 902.61860.100)macOS 27.0.1

I have used Quicken for Windows since the 1990s.  I recently switched to the Mac version shown above.   I have always used the Bills & Income reminders, but since switching to MAC, I find the reminders are entered into the register automatically and way before I need them. I have searched everywhere to find a solution. I find nothing.  I want to enter the transactions myself and not have the program enter them for me, especially not way too early, which messes up the available balance of the account. However, I like the Bills & Income list to keep track of my monthly bills and want to continue to use it, but I want to enter from the list manually and when I choose. Not when the program chooses.

Is there a workaround for this?

Also, to control how far in advance reminders are displayed in each register, click the tiny clock icon in the top right corner. You will see the option to display only the next reminder in each series, or to select various time periods.

Thank you for asking about this!

Yes, you can set up reminders that require manual entry, rather than entering them automatically. We also have a Help Article that covers this.

This is something you specify when you are setting up the reminder. However, you can also edit existing reminders. To do this, you would go to the Bill & Income tab and select the Bills tab within this window.

From there, you will select the three dots next to the bill reminder you want to edit. This opens a menu where you can select Edit all instances…

A smaller window will open in the center of your screen. Under the Details tab, you have Mark as Paid options. Use the dropdown to change it from Automatically to I'll do it myself.

Repeat these steps for your remaining reminders. This should resolve the issue of these entering automatically.
