Transfer of MM shares between Fido Accts not showing up

I made a transfer of FSPXX (Fidelity Calif Tax-Free MM Fund) between two accounts, one in each direction on different days. FSPXX is being treated as cash in both accounts (i.e., not tracking buy/sell of shares). Because of that, Quicken properly ignored the transfers, but didn't generate a "Payment" transaction to note the transfer of "cash" from one account to the other. In order to get each account to reconcile, I needed to manually enter a Payment transaction and check it off. Is this a bug, expected behavior, or just a feature not yet implemented?

Thank you for reaching out. When a money market fund such as FSPXX is configured to “Treat as Cash,” Quicken handles it as cash rather than as a conventional investment security. As a result, Quicken does not generate the usual investment transactions (such as Buy, Sell, or Transfer Shares) for the fund.

Your workaround, manually entering the corresponding Payment/Deposit transaction and reconciling it, is reasonable.

If you instead want Quicken to track FSPXX as a security and record transfers as shares, you can change its money market treatment from “Treat as Cash,” assuming that is appropriate for your Fidelity account and the way you want to track the fund.
