Hi @jcjrb ,
Thanks for letting us know about the issue you’re experiencing.
Since CC-501 is a general error message that can occur for multiple reasons, I reviewed my internal tools and found the FDP-350 error in your account. In Quicken, this appears as CC-501. This error typically occurs when the security token has expired, and Quicken requires you to reauthorize the connection.
If you haven’t already done so, I suggest deactivating all accounts connected to Citi Cards, including any closed or hidden accounts. Before proceeding with the troubleshooting steps below, I recommend creating a backup of your Quicken data file. This provides a safe copy of your data in case you need to restore it.
To deactivate an account:
Once you have deactivated all accounts connected to Citi Cards, I recommend completing the following steps:
I hope this helps. Please let me know how it goes.
Part of your instructions is to deactivate the service. Does that go against the following note on this page? https://www.quicken.com/support/error-when-using-online-services-cc-501/
Important: Do not attempt to deactivate and reactivate your accounts as a troubleshooting step.
Hi @Santanu,
Thanks for joining the thread and for your question.
You are correct that we generally do not recommend deactivating and reactivating accounts when a CC-501 error is present. However, CC-501 is a general error that can occur for multiple reasons. In this case, our internal tools provide additional details that are not displayed in the Quicken product.
In @jcjrb ’s case, the error displayed in Quicken is CC-501, but my internal tools show the more specific FDP-350 error. This indicates that the security token associated with the connection has expired. That is why I recommended deactivating and reactivating the accounts and revoking Quicken’s existing authorization with the financial institution to generate a new authorization token.
I hope this helps clarify why these troubleshooting steps were recommended for this specific situation. After reviewing my internal tools, I found that your account previously had the same error, FDP-350. However, the most recent connection attempt shows an OK status.
Please let me know if you are still experiencing issues with Citi Cards. I look forward to your reply.
Bless you!
That worked perfectly!
Hi @jcjrb,
Thanks for taking the time to update this thread. I’m glad to hear that the steps above worked for you.
I suggest continuing to monitor the connection. If you encounter another error or the issue returns, please don’t hesitate to reach back out to us. We’re happy to help!
