Credit Card online Balance does not agree with Quicken for Windows

One of my credit cards online balance is 8238.12 vs my Quicken Balance is 1365.20. How do I adjust this discrepancy ?

The online balance is correct.

@Herman Before making any adjusting entry, I'd recommend determining what is causing the discrepancy. A difference of nearly $6,900 is more likely due to missing, duplicated, or incorrectly entered transactions than a balance issue.

I would:

1. Compare the ending balance in Quicken to your credit card's most recent statement.
2. Look for any uncleared or reconciled transactions that don't appear on the credit card website.
3. Review recent downloads for duplicate or missing transactions.
4. Check whether any balance adjustment transactions were inadvertently entered in the register.
5. Reconcile the account to the statement and see where the difference first appears.

If the online balance is correct, Quicken can be made to match it, but it's generally best to identify the underlying transactions causing the difference rather than entering a large adjustment that could mask the real problem.

Approximately how old is the discrepancy? Has the account reconciled correctly in the past and only recently gone out of balance, or has it been off for a longer period?
