Archive, or preferably delete old transactions?

Not a power user by any standard. Been using some form of Quicken since 2009. How do I get rid of transactions that are more than 10 years old with one or two keystrokes? The statute of limitations and any warranties are long gone.

Thank you for reaching out! There are several ways to archive older information in Quicken, although some manual adjustments may be necessary. Based on your description, you may want to create a copy of your data file that includes only transactions within a specific date range.

Before proceeding, back up your current data file. Then follow these steps:

1. Save a backup file first.
2. Go to File > Copy or Backup File.
3. In the Backup or Copy File window, under Advanced Options, select Create a copy or template.
4. Click Next.
5. Choose what you want to include in the copy.
   1. This is where you can set the Include transactions From and To dates to control which transactions are included.
6. Uncheck Uncleared transactions and Attachments to help ensure that only the transactions within your selected date range are copied.
7. Name and Save the copied file.
8. When asked which file you would like to open, choose New Copy.

A few things to keep in mind:

• Once you open the new file, you’ll need to reconnect your accounts.
• Your original data file will remain available. If you need to return to it, go to the File menu and select the original file from the list at the bottom.
