Quicken Mac: Can I change starting month in budgets?

I'm running Quicken 9.2.2 for Mac, on a Mac running OS 26.5.2.

Using "Edit Budget" I can change the year - can I also change the month? Using the "Reset Date" button I can highlight the month field, but when I try to make a change there I am switched to the Edit Budget screen, and I don't see a way to do this there. My goal is to look at "last 12 month" performance, which overlaps back into the previous year.

Also, in other posts "fiscal year" is mentioned - is that a setting? I only see a setting for "Budget Year" in Edit Budget.

I've just communicated with a customer service person, who clarified that changing the budget month is only possible in the Windows version of Quicken, not the one for Macs. Please request this feature! It would make it possible to see performance over the a rolling "last twelve month" period, which would make budgeting a much more useful tool!

You're correct that you can't change the start month of an existing budget. However, you can choose a different start month when creating a new budget from scratch, such as October 2026 through September 2027.

To create a new budget, follow these steps:

Save a backup.
Go to Budgets.
Select New Budget.
Choose your preferred start month.
Customize your budget categories as needed.
