Looking at my mortgage home page, I no longer have an "Enter Loan Payment" option under the action icon (Ctrl-Shift-N). Where did it go and how to enter my correct loan payment with principal/Interest/Escrow now???
Septic,
Thank you for your assistance. That solved the problem. My next question is how did I lose the option in the first place. I have several issues with Quicken the aren't answered, like why do reports inflate my wife's IRA account value by $160K and how to use Bill Pay correctly…. Always something…. Thank you again..
@Dean Mechler that option only shows up when you have a payment reminder set up for your mortgage payment. Click on the Bills & Income tab and then click on the "Manage Manual Bills and Income" button and verify that you loan payment reminder is still listed there. If not, to get your payment reminder set up again -
Important - Please review the Loan Payment Reminder details and verify that the payment splits are being calculated correctly.
@Dean Mechler you're very welcome. I'm glad to hear that solved the problem.
As for how the option disappeared in the first place, that's often the harder question to answer. In many cases, reminder settings can get changed inadvertently during program updates, data file maintenance, restoring a backup, syncing changes between files, or simply by an accidental click that goes unnoticed at the time. Unfortunately, Quicken doesn't maintain an audit trail for those types of preference changes, so the exact cause is usually impossible to determine after the fact.
Regarding your other unresolved issues, that's one of the real strengths of the Quicken Community. By posting questions and following up with details, you not only increase the chances of getting your own issue resolved, but you also create a record that can help other users who encounter the same problem in the future. Many fixes and workarounds that users rely on today came from community discussions just like this one.
I hope you're able to get answers to the IRA reporting and Bill Pay questions as well. Sometimes those more complex issues take a bit of troubleshooting, but the more information that's shared in the forum, the easier it becomes for other users and moderators to identify patterns and solutions.
Thanks for coming back and posting the outcome. It's always helpful to know what ultimately fixed the problem.
