This is happening with a mortgage payment and a salary income deposit. The other day the checking account was showing -25k. I was able to correct but why did this happen?
The paycheck deposit amount was changed and the payment amount on the mortgage just changed. The fix was easy I clicked on the check mark in the account register category for the paycheck and clicked on the ok from the pop-up window and that corrected the paycheck deposit amount and for the mortgage payment I click on the check mark from the category removed the uncategorized amount. Everything appears to be ok but how on earth did this happen and why (validate did not show anything or make any corrections)?
I do not know what is going to happen when I reconcile.

Hi @LambsPalmsMU,
That's unusual behavior. There could be an issue with the data file, even if Validate didn't report any problems. A clean validation result doesn't guarantee that every transaction and reminder is correct.
Did this affect only a couple of transactions, or have you noticed it happening with multiple transactions, including ones that were already reconciled?
I'd also recommend checking the paycheck and mortgage payment reminders under Bills & Income to make sure they contain the correct amounts and details.
To check a reminder:
If the reminders contain incorrect amounts or other details, that could help explain the behavior. If everything looks correct, I would avoid changing the reminders for now and monitor whether the problem happens again.
Please let me know what you find. I look forward to your response.
