I am now having the same problem with Wells Fargo that I have with Fidelity. The numbers are not downloading properly. Is there a problem today? I have Quicken for Windows.
@mickkassem when you say the numbers are not downloading properly, can you provide a little more detail about what you're seeing?
If both Wells Fargo and Fidelity are affected at the same time, it would also be helpful to know whether other financial institutions in your Quicken file are downloading correctly.
Just investment accounts, not credit cards or regular banking. No errors at all. I think mainly today. The amounts did not change from last time I downloaded in several accounts but they did online.
Thanks for the additional information. Since this is affecting multiple investment accounts (Wells Fargo and Fidelity), there are no error messages, and the holdings themselves downloaded but the values did not update, it would be helpful to determine exactly what is not changing:
If the securities are using stale prices across multiple accounts, that would point more toward a quote download issue rather than a problem with any particular financial institution.
@mickkassem I'm seeing something similar here. As of about 3:20 PM Pacific, my investment account prices have not updated yet either, and I'm not receiving any errors. Since your issue is affecting multiple financial institutions and mine appears to be as well, I would hesitate to conclude that this is a Wells Fargo- or Fidelity-specific problem at this point.
I'd suggest checking again later this afternoon or this evening to see whether the prices update. If they still have not updated by then, please post back with what you're seeing.
@Sceptic I'm receiving ETF and stock quotes, but nothing for mutual funds. Is that what you're seeing?
So far, I haven't received price updates for any of my securities. 3:51 pm Pacific
Same exact issue here.
@AnthonyG thanks for confirming you're seeing the same behavior. The pricing issue discussed in this thread appears to have since been resolved, so hopefully your quotes/prices are updating normally now as well. If you're still experiencing problems, please let us know what you're seeing currently and whether the prices have updated since your last download.
I have had a similar problem with Wells Fargo for years. I usually balance my Quicken Accounts with my Well’s Investment accounts Monday-Friday. I find it easier to track down a discrepancy with a smaller sample size, hence the daily frequency.
For years Wells will display a handful of equities (Stocks, ETF’s and Mutual Funds with a different closing price than Quicken, Yahoo, Morningstar, CNBC, etc.
The best time, I have found for Wells quotes to be accurate is around 745 Eastern. I don’t know what goes on overnight but an accurate price on the Wells site will frequently change overnight for no apparent reason. NO PATTERN. Different equities, sometimes it is only a few, others it may be a dozen or so. Sometimes no change at all. The only consistency is the lack of consistency. ALWAYS different from day to day in the ticker and quantity of incorrect prices in the morning around 6AM, long before the open.
I gave up getting an explanation from Wells…just BS. I’ve even noticed quote changes on Christmas day which I know is BS.
My work around to balance my Wells brokerage and Quicken accounts is to balance the cash ONLY since, even with Wells a dollar is still a dollar and that does not change. If my cash balances but the account values do not balance, unless there has been active trading that has occurred, I know I’ve got a matching balance. If my only activity is cash additions in the form of dividends and interest or withdrawals, the cash should balance and I know I’m good even if Wells shows a different overall account value than Quicken.
I also set up my Wells portfolio in Yahoo Finance since they accurately display quotes in the evening and in the morning when the market is closed. So I check my Quicken Balance against my Yahoo Balance as a secondary assurance that Quicken is displaying my accurate Wells account balances even though Wells frequently does not in the morning before trading,
Hope that is clear as mud. 😁
@bbumbarger thanks for sharing your experience. It sounds like you're describing a long-standing difference between the security prices displayed by Wells Fargo and those provided by other quote sources, which is likely a separate issue from the quote update delay that was being discussed in this thread.
Since the delayed quote downloads have now been resolved, it may be helpful to start a separate discussion focused on the Wells Fargo pricing discrepancies. That would allow other Wells Fargo users to share their observations and keep this thread focused on the original quote update issue.
I may have misunderstood the thread title. I have posted separately in the “Stock prices not updating 10/26/2026” thread regarding 10/26/26 mutual funds not updating on Monday and when I received a comment about the “Quicken not downloading - Wells Fargo” thread, I assumed it was a different issue. Sorry for the confusion.
