No graph in Projected Balances

QM 9.2.2 and macOS 27.2 Bills & Income/Projected Balances

Anybody seeing this? Graph not visible and can't be pulled down with the grabber to view, and there is no Show Graph option in upper right like there is on regular Investment Portfolio views.

Looking deeper, even on regular investment views, if you roll up the graph until it disappears, you can't pull it down again with the usual grabber. But there is a Show Graph button option that restores the graph.

I think this is new behavior, perhaps with the macOS update? Or have I just missed something?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

Based on your description, it’s possible that the graph is hidden. I suggest moving your cursor over the small bar where the graph would normally appear. If the divider is visible, click and drag it downward to expand the graph, as shown in the attachment below.

I can't duplicate this problem with 9.2.2 and 27.0.1, haven't upgraded to 27.2 yet. One thing I'll point out is that when you drag the grabber down the graph doesn't instantly start appearing. There's a certain minimum distance you have to drag it before the graph suddenly pops into view. So make sure you're dragging it far enough.

Alas, no dice with the grabber. Also an issue in 9.3, which I just installed. The graph is completely hidden, except for the grabber itself.

The grabber works fine in the portfolio views, as long as I reveal the graph with Show Graph. But in these views, too, if the graph is hidden the grabber can't pull it into view. It works fine if even a tiny bit of the graph is showing, but once I pull it completely closed, it stays closed until Show Graph is clicked.

Same behavior with a completely new account from scratch. I think the problem is that there is no Show Graph option in Projected Balances. Was there ever one?

I am seeing similar under 27.2 and 9.3. Once it is closed, you can't get it back.

After upgrading to macOS 27.2 I was able to duplicate this. So it seems to be some interaction between Quicken and the newest macOS.

If you keep hold of the divider you can close & reopen the graph but if you let go of the divider with the graph closed it won't reopen. If you use the Show Graph option where it is available the divider works normally again, but I see no way to get the Projected Balances graph back on the Bills & Income tab. Even restarting the app doesn't help.

I pulled 9.2.2 out of the trash and it happened with that version of Quicken as well, so this isn't a new problem with 9.3.

This appears to be a macOS bug introduced by macOS 27.2. I can reproduce it in a simple test app that just has a collapsible split view.

We're adding a workaround for this macOS bug in a forthcoming 9.3.1 update where clicking on the divider of a collapsed split view will expand it again (rather than the standard macOS behavior of allowing you to drag the divider in order to expand it).

I don't know of any other workaround to expand the collapsed graph in the Projected Balances tab on macOS 27.2.

Actually, here's one idea: while viewing the Projected Balances tab, choose "Open in New Window" from the "View" menu and it will open "Bills & Income" in its own window. The graph in the "Bills & Income" window won't be collapsed unless you've previously opened this window and collapsed it in the past. Just don't collapse it until 9.3.1 is out, or Apple ships a fix for macOS. ;)
