I enter a split transaction amount and Quicken changes it

When I go to enter a new line on a split transaction, I discover that Quicken has changed the amount on one of the prior lines. Quicken adds a debit on a new line that is not attributed to any payee or account to keep the transaction total consistent. I am forced to continually check for the changed transaction and then check other sites for the correct amount of the changed transaction. Quicken is thus anything but quick. I have been using it without issue for 28 years. Now, I have a major issue. How to fix?

I am running R68.31 and I do not see the newer %Split functionality. As far as I can tell, the %Split functionality was introduced with R69.xx.

It is confusing when https://community.quicken.com/profile/10256736/Quicken%20Levetta references it as 'beginning around R68.31'. Am I missing something that I cannot see %Split in R68.31?

The feature has been available for some time. We do not have an exact release or date. However, the reference to R68.31 in the alert may relate to earlier development or documentation, rather than the release of the visible percentage column itself.

When looking into this, @Sceptic is correct, the feature was made easier to find in release R69.17.

Thanks for the follow-up. I have never in the past used the feature where percentages of a memorized transaction can be saved (as well as the amounts) as follows…

To be honest I had forgotten it existed since it only shows up in the above prompt when memorizing a split transaction - a rare event for me.

I understand now that R69.17 made visible for the first time a previously-not-visible "%Split" column.
