Is there an equivalent to "validate and repair" from Windows to the mac version

Quicken P&B responsiveness is starting to get sluggish, and I wonder if my data file needs cleanup/repair.

Running GG 27.2. I noticed that when I created a file for beta testing, responsiveness was awesome. Clearly, not as many transactions in the file. Once I was convinced that the beta was stable enough to use for real, I made a copy of my everyday data file, renamed it as beta, and was dismayed that performance was pretty sluggish for some tasks (using rollover, budget updates, random spinning wheels).

Many years ago, when I was still a Windows Quicken user, there was something called "Validate and repair". I remember that seemed to help when things slowed down. I don't see it anywhere in the Mac version, but is there a separate software tool that can be used to improve responsiveness?

No, there's no command or tool that does anything to "repair" a Quicken Mac data file. It shouldn't be necessary, though, since it's a SQLite database, which is a pretty solid database format with support built into Mac OS.

Make sure you don't have any report windows open in the background hiding behind the main window - that can really slow down Quicken Mac since an open report will update every time you do anything in Quicken. Also, if you're using an Apple Silicon Mac, check to make sure Quicken is not running in Rosetta- right-click on the app and select Get Info, then make sure that the "Open using Rosetta" box is not checked. (I admit this last one is unlikely, but it can happen.)
