Budget Roll Overs

How do I prevent Quicken from rolling over budget line items from one year to the next? Last year, I got a ton of category rollovers when I moved to a new budget year. I would like to start each budget year with a clean slate, with no rollovers.

I would be happy to help you prevent your budget amounts from rolling over into the next year. To start, please take a look at the screenshot below.

Are all of your budgeted items set to use this option? If not, changing the affected budget items to use this setting should prevent rollover for those specific categories.

Alternatively, if you want to roll over only categories without amounts, you can create an entirely new budget with your selected categories and choose Option 3 from the list shown in the screenshot below. This approach should allow you to manage rollover settings for the budget as a whole without having to individually change each category.
