Quicken Windows XP to Mac OSX?

I inherited a Windows XP Quicken file. Will I be able to open it in Quicken for Mac? I do not have Quicken for Windows XP, nor do I have Windows XP. I am running El Capitan (10.11.6).

No, the file formats are not compatible. A conversion process would be required and given the age of XP, it's hard to say how old the version is. The conversion will need to be done on Windows OS or VMware. You can start here if you decide to move forward.
