Stop showing splits as I just scroll down through transactions

Is there any way to NOT show the splits when simply scrolling down through transactions? I have some transactions (like investment income) that have 6-10 individual deposits each month, I just need to see the total deposit when simply moving down the list of transactions for that account! If I need to see the actual split items, I am perfectly capable of double click the transaction. This is ANNOYING beyond belief. I also have payments that are splits, again, I don't need to see all the categories involved, just the total when just scrolling!
