quicken did not update the cost of a security where I only sold a portion of the stock

The results of this is quicken shows a loss where there is a slight gain.

What type of security (stock)? What did you originally pay for the shares? What reinvestments of dividends or interest occurred while you owned the security? What have you previously sold? Is this a mutual fund for which you are using Average Cost? Is this a US based question? What Quicken are you using? Is this a taxable or tax-deferred (IRA, 401k, 529, etc.) account? Why do you think there is a slight gain? Have I gotten to the 20 Questions limit yet?0
