How to delete old data to start over

I need to delete my old data so I can start over with new data.

  To start a new file - from the menu bar select File > New.
  
  Suggest you give the new file a unique name and keep the old file - just in case you find a need for some of the old data.

  What about all the old historical data, transactions, and customizations, reports, categories, etc -
