location of Quicken files

when I go to "find this file" it goes to the recycle bin

    Are you asking about your main Quicken QDF data file ?
    which is usually in your \Quicken\ folder under \Documents\
    The Quicken auto backups are therefore usually found is your \Quicken\Backups\ folder.....
    and the manual backups are located wherever you point them

    That is what I would expect but when I open the "find this file" it open my recycle bin.

    Where or what is the "find this file" you keep mentioning - in Windows menu, or some Quicken menu ?
    If its in the Recycle Bin - just open your Recycle Bin and UN-delete that file
    Do you mean the Quicken menu ..... File --> Find Quicken Files

    Just simply looking at the bottom of the File Menu popup should tell you where your currently open Quicken data file (the one marked as number 1) and up to 3 other recently used files (2, 3, 4) are located:
